WiN Ukraine appealed to the international nuclear community to draw its attention to Russia’s crimes against radiation and nuclear safety, as well as to encourage effective measures to prevent nuclear disasters in Europe.
The actions of hostile Russian troops at Ukraine’s nuclear facilities fall fully within the definition of nuclear terrorism enshrined in the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism.
That is why WiN Ukraine in an open letter calls for the immediate consolidation of all efforts to immediately stop shelling of civilians and infrastructure, hostilities, withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine and return captured nuclear facilities to Ukrainian control.
