Successful projects, war and a change in the vector of development

WiN Ukraine, like other NGOs of the Ukrainian public sector, grew, developed and had ambitious plans for the future. The war changed everything.

This year we celebrate three years since the day of creation, during which we had time to implement successful projects before the start of a large-scale war and change the vector of our development after. But all this would not be possible without our partners. We have the opportunity to dedicate a series of publications to our achievements and share our plans with you.

With this publication, we express our gratitude for our fruitful cooperation and interaction with our partners, donors, project ambassadors, members and friends of WiN Ukraine!

First of all, we are grateful to the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM), our powerful donor, for supporting the activities of our office (which, unfortunately, due to hostilities, had to close) and for supporting our new technical assistance projects, which you will find out about in September this year.

We also thank the World Institute for Nuclear Security (WINS), which in 2022 became our shelter and contributed to the continuous operation of our virtual office in Vienna, as well as for the implementation of the “Voices of Ukraine” project and for all-round friendly support and help.

We would like to thank the Norwegian Radiation Safety Authority (DSA) for supporting our annual events, such as the WiN Ukraine Conference and the National WiN Award, as well as Nucleathon, and for supporting our Program of Activities in 2020-2021, which we plan to continue in 2023-2024.

We are grateful to the governments of the United States and Canada for making us feel part of an important network of nuclear security professionals from around the world, despite all the difficulties and obstacles we have experienced over the past three years.

To our national partners, including SE Energoatom and the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management, because our main mission is to help, first of all, the state and the professionals who work for it.

Many thanks also to our team of wonderful people, to everyone who works with us.

To be continued – new challenges and our joint Victory!
