On September 25, Women in Nuclear Ukraine and the State Enterprise “UDVP IZOTOP” signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, establishing a framework for joint professional, educational, and expert initiatives.
The Memorandum was signed by Alona Zavorotnia, President of WiN Ukraine, and Volodymyr Kalachyk, Director of the State Enterprise “UDVP IZOTOP”. Renata Yaresko, Director of Strategic Development and Communications at WiN Ukraine, also took part in the meeting.
The partnership creates opportunities for professional exchange and joint projects across the broader field of nuclear technologies — from nuclear and radiation safety to the use of radioisotope products and the development of nuclear medicine.
«For WiN Ukraine, it is important to represent the full breadth of the nuclear sector and bring together professionals from its different areas. Nuclear technologies encompass energy, medicine, science, industry, radiation safety, and many other fields. Our partnership with the State Enterprise ‘UDVP IZOTOP’ allows us to bring new expertise into our professional community and jointly develop educational, expert, and international initiatives», — said Alona Zavorotnia, President of WiN Ukraine.
At the same time, our cooperation began even before the Memorandum was signed. The State Enterprise “UDVP IZOTOP” contributed to a joint initiative by WiN Ukraine and the Energy Safety Institute — the Nuclear Safety and Security. What’s Next? Almanac — by providing expert content for the publication. Bringing together professionals from different areas of the nuclear sector helped provide a broader perspective on nuclear safety, the resilience of the sector, and the challenges Ukraine is addressing in wartime conditions.
Another potential area of future cooperation is promoting awareness of the peaceful uses of nuclear technologies and their role in modern medicine. For WiN Ukraine, this also provides an opportunity to raise awareness of careers and professional competencies within the nuclear sector, introduce young people to these opportunities, and showcase the diverse career pathways available in the field.
The signing of the Memorandum establishes common areas of cooperation that we plan to translate into concrete professional and educational projects, expert exchange, skills development, and new opportunities for Ukrainian nuclear professionals.
We thank the team of the State Enterprise “UDVP IZOTOP” for their openness to cooperation. We look forward to implementing joint initiatives and developing new formats for professional collaboration.
