MOC was signed between the Ukrainian Nuclear Society (UNS) and WiN Ukraine (Women in Nuclear Ukraine)

On December 26, 2023, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ukrainian Nuclear Society (UkrYAT) and WiN Ukraine (Women in Nuclear Ukraine) with the goal of supporting the development of nuclear energy and industry in Ukraine, promoting innovation in nuclear technologies, addressing environmental and radiation safety issues, and supporting the sector in areas of education, workforce development, culture, and social aspects.

🏵 WiN Ukraine is the national chapter of Women in Nuclear (WiN) Global, an international organization that has united women professionals in the nuclear field since 1992 to foster and promote their role in the industry. The organization advocates for gender equality and collaboration between women and men, while providing opportunities for effective exchange of information, knowledge, and professional experience in the nuclear sector.

✅ The Memorandum between UkrYAT and WiN Ukraine outlines the following areas of cooperation:

  • Building partnerships with governmental, academic, and private sectors, as well as other civil society and international organizations on projects and initiatives related to environmental protection, radioactive waste management, and radiation safety;
  • Actively engaging women in the nuclear energy sector, particularly in radiation safety and technology fields, and supporting their professional growth;
  • Raising public awareness of the role of women in nuclear energy;
  • Working with governments and international organizations to implement policies that support women in the nuclear and radiation safety sectors.

⚛ The parties will also expand cooperation in:

Strengthening international cooperation in these fields.

Engaging youth and increasing their interest in nuclear energy and industry, the development of nuclear technologies and radiation safety;

Supporting the education and training of young professionals, facilitating knowledge exchange, and promoting career opportunities in the sector;

Encouraging innovative approaches and projects developed by young specialists in nuclear energy, nuclear and radiation safety;

and so on.
