International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

On November 25, the world celebrates the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Unfortunately, many women around the world suffer daily from psychological, moral, and physical violence. It has no political, cultural, racial or national boundaries. The threat of violence, or an unfortunate experience, prevents women from fully enjoying their rights and feeling protected.

Therefore, in 1999, UN General Assembly declared November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and invited governments, international and non-governmental organizations to hold events
on this day to draw public attention to the problem.

The “16 Days Against Gender Violence” campaign will start in Kyiv today and will last from November 25 to December 10. The theme of this year’s worldwide campaign is “Paint the world orange. The generation of equality opposes rape. ” This topic aims to attract public attention and intensify efforts to combat sexual violence.

WiN Ukraine opposes all forms of violence, especially against the weaker sex, and calls for an understanding that any manifestation of violence against a person is unacceptable and has no justification!
